Luís Ruben Meléndez, 51, of New Haven, CT died suddenly on Sunday, March 17, 2024. Luís was born in New Haven on March 22, 1972, a son of Olga Iris Troche of Odessa, FL and the late Luís Meléndez, and was a lifelong New Haven resident. He is also survived by his step-mother who raised him, Elizabeth Meléndez of Wilmington, DE, a daughter, Gabriela Meléndez, three sons, Luís Meléndez, Jr. and Angel and Joshua Meléndez, four sisters, Rev. Elizabeth (Roberto de Cena) Meléndez of Meriden, Eunice (Eliezer López) Meléndez of Wilmington, Anna Burroughs of Florida and Merari (Robert Everhart) Meléndez-Everhart of Ocala, FL, two brothers, Luís and José Rivera, and a host of extended family members and friends. A memorial service will take place on Saturday, March 23rd at 11:00 a.m. at Oasis Ministry, 2313 East Main St., Bridgeport, CT. Burial will be private.
